Recruitment Privacy Policy

When you apply for a job at 37signals, we store your data in Workable, our applicant tracking system. If you progress to later selection stages, your information is co-located in our company's private Basecamp account. Candidate data we collect are used for selection purposes only, and access to your personal information is limited to 37signals employees who participate in the selection process.
Workable records consist of:
- Your job application materials (full name, email address, your answers to any short answer questions required in the application, your time zone or country of residence, your cover letter, your CV/resume; any work you complete as part of the selection process, e.g., skills assessment tests or sample project work);
- Internal assessment notes about your application.
- Emails with you concerning the selection process.
We keep records in Basecamp for applicants who progress to later selection rounds, and Basecamp records consist of:
- Your job application materials (full name, email address, your answers to any short answer questions required in the application, your time zone or country of residence, your cover letter, your CV/resume; any work you complete as part of the selection process, e.g., skills assessment tests or sample project work);
- Internal assessment notes about your application and interviews.
- Reference contact information and notes on the results of reference checks.
- Copies of emails or other correspondence with you concerning the selection process.
We store your data in Workable and in Basecamp until we successfully fill the open position. We may keep your records for up to two years if you advance to a take-home exercise or interview stages of our hiring process. We do this to maintain a pool of recent, qualified applicants, should the position re-open or should we decide to hire for another similar role. You can ask us to access, correct, update, or delete your data at any time by emailing Andrea LaRowe, andrea@37signals.com.
We’re unable to accept unsolicited job applications. If we receive one, we’ll delete it, and any personal information included, and refer you to the Careers site.
Our recruitment privacy practices are GDPR compliant. We collect and store this data because we have a legitimate interest: we are trying to hire for a position, and we need information from any candidate who applies for the role.
